Rupali Bank Contact Number – Rupali Bank PLC (রূপালী ব্যাংক পিএলসি) is one of the largest public commercial banks in Bangladesh, established under the Bangladesh Bank (Nationalization) Ordinance, 1972. It was formed by acquiring the assets and liabilities of Muslim Commercial Bank, Australasia Bank, and Standard Bank, which operated in East Pakistan. Rupali Bank commenced operations in March 1972 with an authorized capital of Tk 500 million and a paid-up capital of Tk 10 million. On 14 December 1986, it was decided to retain 51% of the bank’s share capital under government ownership while privatizing the remaining portion. By 1997, the government’s ownership in the bank’s total paid-up capital stood at 94.55%, establishing it as a public bank. Currently, the bank’s authorized capital is Tk 7,000 million, and its paid-up capital amounts to Tk 4,147 million.
The bank operates through 26 regional offices, 10 divisional offices, and 586 branches, with a workforce of 7,164 employees. Its head office encompasses various departments, including: Personnel Administration, Establishment and Welfare, General Banking, Central Accounts, General Loans and Special Loans, International Transactions, Audit and Inspection, Legal and Collection & Rural Loan Department. Rupali Bank is actively engaged in foreign trade transactions, including remittance transfer services. It maintains correspondent banking relationships with 350 banks and financial institutions worldwide and operates an overseas branch in Karachi, Pakistan. Rupali Bank PLC (রূপালী ব্যাংক পিএলসি) is a state owned commercial bank in Bangladesh. Rupali Bank PLC was incorporated on 14 December 1986 under the Companies Act 1913. Its headquarters is at 34 Dilkusha, Dhaka. Rupali Bank was constituted with the merger of 3 (three) erstwhile commercial banks i.e. Muslim Commercial Bank Ltd., Australasia Bank Ltd. and Standard Bank Ltd. operated in the then Pakistan on March 26, 1972 under the Bangladesh Banks (Nationalization) Order 1972 (P.O.
