Southeast Bank PLC (সাউথইস্ট ব্যাংক পিএলসি) was a commercial bank in private sector of Bangladesh. It was incorporated as a public limited company on 12 March, 1995 under the Companies Act 1994. It commenced banking operations on 25 May of the same year with an authorised capital of Tk 500 million and the paid up capital was Tk 200 million. At present, the bank has 135 branches.

The bank operates about all commercial banking activities including deposit, lending, services foreign trade and financing in different projects. Since its inception, Southeast Bank doing widely foreign exchanges business and foreign trade. So at present the bank has correspondent relationships with 309 banks/bank offices in 50 countries.

Southeast Bank PLC (সাউথইস্ট ব্যাংক পিএলসি) was established in March 12, 1995 with a dream and a vision to become a pioneer banking institution of the country and contribute significantly to the growth of the national economy. The Bank was established by leading business personalities and eminent industrialists of the country with stakes in various segments of the national economy. The incumbent Chairman of the Bank is Mr. Alamgir Kabir, FCA, a professional Chartered Accountant.

In the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms issued the Certificate of Commencement of Business of the Bank on the same date. The Southeast Bank received its Banking License from the Bangladesh Bank on March 23, 1995. The Bank’s first branch was opened at 01, Dilkusha Commercial Area, Dhaka on May 25, 1995. Southeast Bank PLC is listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange, and it regularly reports strong financial performance, contributing to the banking sector’s growth in Bangladesh.
